How to stop containment / locked up scenes being boring

One suggestion is to use a Jaws (1975) type technique. When Brody and Hooper join Quint on his boat, they're contained within it. Locked-in so to speak. It's a form of seige. To make the scenes work, there is the conflict between Hooper and Quint, their opposing worlds (working class versus rich college boy), their initial polarization to eventual working as a team.
